I was born and raised in the small northern town of Burns Lake, B.C. Between 1988 and 1992, I attended the University of British Columbia and completed my undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences (B.M.L.Sc.). It is here that I met my wife Christine. As she went on to complete her Radiation Therapy training, I completed my Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) in 1996.
After graduating from dental school, I had the opportunity to go back and practice in my home town of Burns Lake. During my year in Burns Lake, I dealt with some challenging cases which provided me with some valuable knowledge and clinical skills.
I joined Dr. David Christie in Victoria in 1997 as an associate and then as a partner in 2000. After Dr. Christie's retirement from private practice, Dr. Furey Higgins joined me as a business partner in 2002.
I am a member of the Victoria and District Dental Society, the Canadian Dental Association, the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. and the British Columbia Dental Association. I try and stay informed of the latest advances in dental techniques and materials by attending many continuing education courses. I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry, including the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants.
Most of my free time outside of dentistry is spent with my family. Together with my wife Christine and my sons Brenden and Ryan, we enjoy many outdoor activities including camping, boating, hiking and downhill skiing. I also enjoy badminton and riding my motorcycle. We also love to travel and have been to Europe, Australia, India, Mexico and Southeast Asia.
I have a true passion for dentistry. I enjoy working with the wonderful staff we have, some of whom have been with the practice for over 20 years. I enjoy the personal interaction with my patients and often learn just as much from them as they do from me. I appreciate the opportunity to give people the best possible service for all their dental needs. I do care about your dental health and I promise that every time you see me- I WILL BE SMILING!
